Vedad Theophilus was born and grew up in a Persian family. From a very young age, she had a passion for singing and painting. After the revolution in Iran, she moved to Spain, adopted its fiery culture and expanded her passion to the music of Spain. The Gypsies call her the "Persa Gitana" or Persian Gypsy.
After she moved to America, she continued to study Spain's traditional Flamenco music and perform throughout the world. Vedad and other musicians have collaborated on songs that blend traditional Flamenco musical forms with Persian language lyrics.
Vedad's album RECUERDA-REMEMBER brings together the fire and passion of traditional Flamenco music and other Latin classics with the powerfully expressive vocals of Vedad with Flamenco guitar.
This video was recorded live and blends a traditional Flamenco form with a Baha'i prayer for healing in the Spanish language
